Well, well, well…yesterday did not seem to be a good day for Co$. Three pretty big stories covered on The Underground Bunker. Each one significant in their own right. So let’s take a closer look.
First up was the documentation on the FBI’s human trafficking investigation. Wow, is my first reaction. Understanding that they had multiple agents infiltrate the ranks and gain first hand evidence of their operations. Quite embarrassing on two fronts – first, that they were infiltrated, and second, that Co$ vehemently denied the investigation ever took place. Yes, there may not have been any charges, yet, but it appears that the FBI was hesitant after the Headley case. It will be very interesting to see if the remaining 297 pages of the 300 page case surface, and what impact that may have down the road. It would be nice to know that as a result Co$ has changed their policy regarding visas and passports. Either way, one giant ostrich egg on the face of Co$ regarding the existence of the investigation.
Second, was the story from Tennessee regarding the “Life Center for New Tomorrow”, a scientology mental-health facility. Seems there were patients being held against their will…and the “facilities” were less than “Ideal” ;). I guess Co$ could “argue” that the facility was being run by a “rogue” member, and not up to their standards, but as part of the raid, it has been reported that lots of evidence was collected. So, it will be interesting to see where that evidence leads. We know that 2 personnel have already pleaded guilty to charges, and the head operator has been charged with 2 felonies, and all scientology facilities within the county were closed. Just amazing that one of the patients was being held there for 9 months or so under those conditions.
The final story yesterday was another “response” from Co$ regarding the plot of land in Clearwater that City Council agreed to buy from CMA. Seems their too late attempt to keep the City from voting to buy the land was a fail, as the council unanimously agreed to buy. Then, they attempted to smear the aquarium, Winter the dolphin, and the CEO buy questioning salary and how much money they had. After the business of additional funding to CMA for renovations was to be considered by the county board of commissioners, Co$ decided to send a nice response where they again questioned the finances of the aquarium and the salary of the CEO. They also stated the board should be “ashamed” for what Co$ claims is a lack of due diligence. Now, I’m no Toastmaster or great negotiator, but fairly confident that you don’t gain credibility or cooperation by hurling insults. This is all quickly becoming a case of “sour grapes” and very bad PR for Co$, in my opinion.
It was quite amazing that three very timely items appeared yesterday. I think we can expect more of this as the veil of secrecy is lifted on this organization. Every day there are more and more people willing to tell their stories, willing to listen, and willing to stand up, speak out, and be heard. The rest of this year should prove to be very interesting.
